This increase in profit beat Bank BTN's parent business, which only increased by 28.15 percent on an annual basis (yoy).

"The increase in BTN Bank UUS's net profit was supported by increased Islamic financing and improved financing quality," said Bank BTN President Director Haru Koesmahargyo at a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday, February 16.

He detailed that sharia financing grew by 14.79 percent yoy to Rp33.62 trillion and gross non-performing financing (NPF) decreased by 101 bps yoy to 3.31 percent as of December 31, 2022. DPK BTN Syariah also rose at the level of 18.38 percent yoy to Rp34.64 trillion at the end of 2022.

"With this increase, BTN Syariah assets rose 18.18 percent yoy to Rp45.33 trillion as of December 31, 2022," he explained.

On the same occasion, Director of Consumer Bank BTN, Hirwandi said, this profit growth was the result of an increase in BTN SYariah's financing and success in suppressing cost of funds.

"Then we can solve the problem of credit, especially in commercial, so the profit is quite high," he said.

For 2023, he targets an increase in financing of 13 to 14 percent.

"The next strategy is how to reduce existing NPFs, including completing financing that deletes books. One of these is also an increase in income which will also increase in terms of profit," concluded Hirwandi.
