Wow! BUMN Debt IDR 1,640 Trillion In 2022

JAKARTA - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) noted that the debts of all state-owned companies reached IDR 1,640 trillion (unaudited) throughout 2022. This figure increased from last year's IDR 1,580 trillion.

Erick explained that although the amount of BUMN debt increased, the ratio of BUMN debt on a consolidated basis actually decreased from 36.2 percent to 34.2 percent. This is due to a significant increase in capital or equity.

Some say the debt has increased, but on the other hand, the equity has also increased and this is what we emphasize that the perception of SOEs that many debt is not maintained with good equity is wrong. Our capital is Rp. 3,150 trillion compared to debt, much smaller than debt (Rp. 1,640 trillion unaudited)," he said in a working meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, Monday, February 12.

Erick said that equity was maintained because many corporate actions were carried out by state-owned companies in 2022. So that equity rose from IDR 2,778 trillion to IDR 3,150 trillion.

Furthermore, Erick gave an example of a decrease in debt in energy SOEs, PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero). Erick said, there was a decrease in debt of Rp. 96 trillion.

"One of them is the efficiency at PLN, how we suppress the capex, the target is 50 percent reaching 40 percent, there is an improvement in the debt reduction of up to Rp. 96 trillion if I'm not mistaken," he explained.

Regarding the consolidated profit of SOEs, said Erick, a significant growth of IDR 303.7 trillion (unaudited). Erick said, the achievement of consolidated profits increased by 142.4 percent from the previous year's profit in 2021 which was recorded at IDR 125 trillion.

"Clean traffic has increased again very significantly, namely there is an increase from IDR 125 trillion, if audited approximately IDR 303.7 trillion. There is a significant increase of IDR 179 trillion," he said.

Erick also said that the SOE's moncer performance was also followed by the growth in SOE assets from IDR 8,978 trillion to IDR 9,867 trillion.

"Alhamdulillah, assets have increased," he said.
