In this regard, the government is optimistic that modern retail performance still has the opportunity to continue to grow in 2023. This is influenced by the sentiment of ending the pandemic, the stability of the national economy and the start of the political year which is believed to increase product spending in retail.

"However, business actors are expected to continue to adapt to the pattern of public consumption, for example moving outlets to more profitable locations and also providing marketplace services," Kasan concluded his explanation.
