JAKARTA - The Indonesian Retail Entrepreneurs Association (Aprindo) has denied that Chairul Tanjung's modern retailer Transmart went bankrupt. The decision to close several outlets was because the company was redesigning a business model.
"So what happened at Transmart was not bankrupt, colllapse, this is Aprindo's statement, but they are re-engineering their business plan. Download the map business again," said Aprindo Chairman Roy Nicholas Mandey to reporters written Thursday, February 9.
Furthermore, Roy said Transmart closed several of its outlets because it wanted to relocate the place. The reason, said Roy, is that some areas have turned into offices and are no longer residential. Thus, the visit is reduced.

Regarding Transmart's closed relocation plan, Roy admitted that he did not know. Even so, he believes Transmart has prepared a strategy to survive.
