JAKARTA - President Director of Perum Bulog, Budi Waseso, said that now traders can buy rice directly to Bulog kiosks located at the Cipinang Rice Main Market (PIBC), so they don't have to buy it at the Food Station.

The statement also responded to complaints from rice traders at the Cipinang Main Market regarding the depletion of rice stocks in the market.

Buwas, Budi Waseso's nickname, said Bulog would serve the needs of traders. Even a small number of purchases will be served.

Now traders can buy the Bulog directly. retailers can also buy at Bulog through the market in Cipinang, right? It takes three sacks to buy with us. But yesterday we closed the kiosk, now we are opening again, "he said when met at the Bulog Headquarters, Kuningan, Jakarta, Thursday, February 2.

Buwas said that the direct sale at Bulog kiosk departed from the Food Station situation which could not directly meet the needs of traders because the budget was limited.

So far, continued Buwas, the Food Stastion must wait for the money to be collected from traders who want to buy rice. After being collected, the Food Station will only spend it to Bulog.

"I want supply, food station can't buy it from me. The cost can't be done, wait for the buyers to be collected. Then he bought it from us. The readiness of the money is not the amount needed," he said.

Actually, said Buwas, Bulog will prepare any request from the Food Station. However, with a note, the rice must be paid to Bulog.

"Now the Food Station wants to buy 100,000 tons, I give it now today. Is there money for 100,000 tons? Well, he can't. He's waiting first for the money to be collected from traders," he explained.

Therefore, said Buwas, Bulog will fulfill the demand for rice traders through Bulog kiosks at Cipinang Market. He said, currently there is a stock of 10,000 tons of rice available.

"How much is needed? Tell me that the Food Station can afford 30,000, okay, I will fulfill it. It doesn't have to be on the Food Station, right? Because if you wait for the money first, when will it be. Now traders can buy it directly at Bulog," he said.

"Now I have 10,000 tons of reserves from the ship being dismantled directly to Cipinang," he continued.
