JAKARTA - The term of office of the Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Perry Warjiyo is said to be ending soon in May 2023.

For this reason, several names have emerged who will become central bank bosses.

Based on information compiled by the editors, it was recorded that a number of names surfaced, including the Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani and the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) Purbaya Yudhi Sadive.

There are also voices who say that Perry's subordinates are Destry Damayanti, who currently serves as Deputy Senior Governor of BI.

Members of Commission XI of the DPR RI who oversee the financial sector to date have not provided information regarding regeneration within the monetary authority.

For information, in the Law (UU) Bank Indonesia and the Law on Strengthening and Development of the Financial Sector (P2SK) requires BI gubernatorial candidates to be submitted by the President to the DPR.

The head of state can push for a maximum of three names to follow the fit and proper test by parliament.

To note, this evening, Tuesday 31, January, the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) will hold a regular press conference regarding the latest developments in the financial industry in the country.

The KSSK itself consists of the Minister of Finance, the Governor of BI, the Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners, and the Chairman of the LPS Board of Commissioners.

The agenda is considered to be the first bright spot regarding the candidate exchange for Bank Indonesia boss.
