JAKARTA - The government is aggressively encouraging the use of Rooftop Solar Power Plants (PLTS) to meet the demand for electrical energy in various sectors. Supporting the government's plan, SUNterra realized the installation of a Rooftop PLTS with a capacity of 151.25 kWp at PT Modern Plastic Industry (MPI).

Chief Executive Officer of SUNterra Fanda Soesilo said that he really appreciates the steps taken by PT Modern Plastic Industry to become aware of the importance of sustainable business practices using new and renewable energy.

"We hope that the installation of this Rooftop PLTS will educate as well as inspire other business people, especially in the manufacturing sector, to start switching to clean energy, so that together we can reduce the impact of climate change which is increasingly real, not only for Indonesia but also the world as a whole," he said in a statement. his written statement was quoted on Thursday, January 11.

The installation of the PLTS system at PT MPI uses an on grid system which is still connected to the PLN network with a capacity of 550 Wp per panel. SUNterra uses solar panels from Jinko Solar as many as 275 units, which are equipped with MBB HC Technology.

Thanks to the installation of this PLTS system, it is estimated that PT MPI can reduce carbon emissions by 79 tons per year, and is equivalent to planting 58,714 trees for 25 years. On the other hand, to support performance and safety, the PLTS system at PT MPI is offset by using an inverter from Sungrow of type SG125CX.

The Sungrow SG125CX premium series inverter is supported by Utomo SolaRUV, designed for the application of Solar Rooftop systems in the industrial commercial segment which is capable of delivering higher power output, an intelligent energy monitoring system, and an effectiveness rate of up to 98.5 percent.

The inverter allocated directly by Utomo SolaRUV is equipped with an IP66 and C5 security system, so that it is protected from corrosion and protected from external threats such as dust or water spray which can reduce the quality of the inverter's performance.

As a representative of the family that owns PT MPI, Michael Jusanti said that not only factory operations, the PLTS installation with a capacity of 151.25 kWp also contributes energy supply to office activities in the same location.

"We also plan to increase the PLTS capacity by 201 kWp, bringing the total PLTS in our green energy factory to 352 kWp," he explained.

Michael said this was our real contribution in supporting the government's renewable energy program through the green energy factory.

"Hopefully in the future, we will be able to produce more plastic packaging without worrying about the resulting carbon footprint," he concluded.
