PT PLN (Persero) has confirmed that there will be no increase in electricity rates until March 2023.
PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo emphasized that he is ready to carry out the government's decision to decide to maintain electricity rates in the first quarter of 2023.
"Electricity is the heart of the national economy. Therefore, PLN is ready to keep electricity supply reliable and provide the best service for the community," Darmawan said in a statement to the media, Wednesday, January 4.
The parameters for determining electricity rates are determined by the realization of macroeconomic parameters in the fourth quarter of last year of the rupiah exchange rate at IDR 15,079.96 per US dollar, Indonesian Crude Price (ICP) at 89.78 US dollars per barrel, the price of reference coal (HBA) at IDR 920.41 per kg and inflation at 0.28 percent.
The following is the amount of electricity tariff from January to March 2023:
- Subsidized 450 VA Power House Customers amounting to IDR 415/kWh.- Subsidized 900 VA Day Household Customers amounting to IDR 605/kWh.- 900 VA RTM Dayhold Customers (Able Households) amounting to IDR 1,352/kWh.- Dayhold Customers of 1,300-2,200 VA amounting to IDR 1,444.70/kWh.- Housing customers 3,500 and above amounting to IDR 1,699.53/kWh.
Darmawan added that the government is committed to protecting the public by continuing to provide electricity subsidies to household customers of 450-900 volt amperes (VA).
Likewise, non-subsidized customers did not experience an increase in tariffs during this period and still received compensation.
The government's decision not to increase electricity rates is to maintain people's purchasing power in the midst of post-pandemic economic recovery.
