The Government Of Rogoh Is Rp45.8 Trillion For BPJS Responsibility 96.7 Million Poor People Throughout 2022

Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said that the government had spent Rp45.8 trillion to cover the costs of paying the national health insurance (BPJS Kesehatan) throughout 2022.

According to the Minister of Finance, the funds were distributed to 96.7 million underprivileged people who were included in the category of recipients of contribution assistance (PBI).

"The funds were taken from the health budget in the 2022 State Budget," he told reporters quoted on Wednesday, January 4.

The Minister of Finance added that the amount of the BPJS contribution budget is part of the central government's expenditure absorbed by ministries/agencies.

"Meanwhile, payments for health insurance for civil servants, military/police, and retirees have been paid in the amount of Rp9.8 trillion to 4.2 million recipients," he said.

To note, the absorption of the health budget in 2022 was relatively sloping when compared to previous years.

Citing a broadcast released by the Ministry of Finance, it is known that the health sector ceiling in the 2022 State Budget is recorded at IDR 256 trillion.

The realization until the end of December 2022 was IDR 176.7 trillion, consisting of IDR 47 trillion in PEN funds and IDR 129 trillion in non-PEN funds.

"This relatively low budget absorption is influenced by the increasingly controlled spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country," said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
