Start Implementing ASO, VIVA Group Assess There Is A Decrease In Attendance

JAKARTA - PT Visi Media Asia Tbk (VIVA) as the parent company of ANTV and tvOne admitted that since the termination of analog broadcasts or Analog Switch Off (ASO) there has been a decrease in the number of viewers.

President Director of TVOne, Ahmad Rahardian Widarmana revealed that until now his party had twice conducted ASO, namely November 2 for the Jabodetabek area and December 2 for 4 cities on the island of Java.

"So it is from the Nielsen consultant and we spoke with the Kominfo that it is predicted that there will be a decline in attendance," he said at a Public Expose in Jakarta, Wednesday, December 14.

He continued, this decline was also due to the uneven distribution of the top box (STB) set and the lack of socialization related to ASO to the community.

"This is more because the distribution of STB and socialization to the community is also not full, so there is a shock first," he added.

But for now the growth chart of digital television users.

"We have seen that the graph has recovered and so far is still in accordance with our estimate. It is true that there has been a change but we are seeing it starting to return to recovery," he concluded.

ANTV President Director Ahmad Zulfikar said his party would continue to prepare infrastructure so that the broadcast range of ANTV and tvOne could be enjoyed.

"We also continue to prepare in terms of infrastructure so that our reach can be enjoyed in a predetermined digital area," he concluded.

Just so you know, ANTV and tvOne as multiplexing organizers in 16 provinces with 38 broadcast service areas have completed the construction of multiplexing infrastructure and continue the distribution of free STB for Poor Households.

VIVA is working with other multiplexing organizers for ANTV and tvOne to broadcast in 34 provinces.

As previously reported, on November 2 at 24.00 WIB, the government through the Ministry of Communication and Information officially stopped broadcasting Analog TV in Jabodetabek.
