Sri Mulyani: Highway Infrastructure, Dam, Campus Is The Real Work Result Of The State Budget

Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said infrastructure was the real result of the work of the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) for the community.

"If you explain the state budget through numbers, people usually don't connect. But once you see the results, such as roads, dams, and campuses that are built, whether it's for classrooms, laboratories, or road access, people just feel that the state budget is alive," Sri Mulyani said at the BMN Handover Ceremony. Thus, the government continues to convey to the public the results of state revenues from various sources so that the public understands the management of state money and sees the actual results.

Sri Mulyani explained that infrastructure that is a state asset or State Property (BMN) was built using the APBN obtained from tax, customs and excise revenues, Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP), and even partly in the form of Government Securities (SBN) or Government Securities (SUN).

From the various development processes that have been carried out so far, he said, the value of BMN and state-owned assets until 2021 has reached IDR 11,454 trillion. This value is certainly very dependent on the valuation and quality of the asset, so it is not only seen in terms of value.

Therefore, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani assessed that the role of the Ministry of PUPR is very important in bridging and helping the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) to communicate the APBN concretely from various development processes.

"We all understand that the essence of development is building to create the impact of people's welfare," said Sri Mulyani.

For this development, he said, some of it was carried out by state money, partly by the public and the private sector, so that development using state money must also be accounted to the public through the APBN mechanism.
