JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) as part of Pertamina's Gas Subholding continues to strive to support energy security in Indonesia. One of the efforts to realize this commitment was Pertagas in collaboration with Petronas Caringgi Ketapang II Ltd. (PC Ketapang II Ltd.) in the form of gas distribution for the Gresik LPG Refinery.

The collaboration between Pertagas and Petronas was carried out through the signing of the Head of Agreement (HoA) for Purchasing Gas from Bukit Panjang Field in the Ketapang Working Area which was held last Friday, November 25 at The 3rd International Convention on Indonesian Upstream Oil & Gas 2022 (IOG 2022) at the Nusa Dua Convention Center Bali. The signing was carried out directly by the President Director of Pertagas, Gamal Imam Santoso and President Director of PC Ketapang II Ltd., Yuzaini Md Yusof.

Gamal said he welcomed the collaboration with Petronas which will help guarantee domestic LPG production.

"The current need for domestic LPG is very high. Supply from domestic gas fields that have economical potential and butane will certainly encourage domestic LPG production and help the government reduce import LPG subsidies," said Gamal, in his statement, Thursday, December 1.

Through this collaboration, Pertagas will distribute gas from the Bukit Panjang Field, the Ketapang WK owned by Petronas to meet gas needs at the Gresik LPG Plant. Gas will be channeled through the Gresik - Semarang transmission pipeline. The distribution is planned to start in 2026 with a volume of 40-50 MMSCFD.

The gas will then be processed at the Gresik LPG Plant where the production will be distributed to meet the needs of industrial consumers in Central Java and East Java.

Gamal also hopes that this cooperation can continue to be established in the future because according to him, the gas supply from Bukit Panjang Field is very potential to meet supply and demand for industrial consumers in Central Java and East Java.

President Director of PC Ketapang II Ltd., Yuzaini also appreciated the collaboration with Pertagas.

"We entrust the development of infrastructure from Bukit Panjang Field to Pertagas, considering that Pertagas is one of the most reliable and reliable companies in the development and operation of gas infrastructure in Indonesia," Yuzaini explained.

This agreement is a tangible manifestation of the synergy and collaboration between Pertagas and strategic partners in supporting national energy equality. It is hoped that this collaboration will be sustainable and support the government's program, namely Net Zero Emission (NZE), where the use of natural gas is one of the right solutions to reduce carbon emissions.
