BUMN Tourism Holding Appoints TWC As A Destination Management Operator

JAKARTA - PT Aviasi Wisata Indonesia (Persero) or Injourney as the Tourism and Supporting BUMN Holding plans to appoint PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan, and Ratu Boko/TWC (Persero) as operators of professional destination management or destination management.

InJourney President Director Donyperteria said, apart from the expected development of destinations, InJourney also strengthens the management of destination management. Indonesia has good tourist destinations, but Indonesia's weaknesses do not have strong destination management.

"That's why we appointed PT TWC as the core destination management. TWC began to operate Borobudur, Prambanan, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Kawah Putih, and several other tourist sites," said Dony in Semarang Old City, Central Java, quoted from Antara, Tuesday 29 November.

TWC will also operate Labuan Bajo and Siak Bajo later.

TWC will be more directed at destination operators, destination operator management. The weakness in Indonesia is that there are no professional operators, because in general government-owned tourist destinations, both local governments and ministries/state institutions and managed are not professional," said Dony.

"TWC will be a professional destination management organization. We have started from Prambanan, Borobudur, Ratu Boko, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah and others that have been handed over to us for management so that they can be managed professionally and improved. This is what we do for TWC," said Dony.

Previously, SOE Minister Erick Thohir revealed that services to local tourists must be the main thing, because there are many local tourism potentials that must be developed.

According to the Minister of SOEs, this is because in cities, regencies, and villages there are many tourism potentials that must be developed.

Erick added that currently is an era of competition, so Indonesia must ensure that the domestic market is very strong, so that this domestic market is not taken, and even foreigners take it.
