Despite His Discussion Alot, The Leaders' Declaration APEC Agreed To The Adoption Of Agreement At The G20 Bali Summit

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Economic Cooperation (Menko) Airlangga Hartarto said the High Level Conference (KTT) of Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation/APEC) adopted the full Bali G20 Leaders Declaration. "Leaders Declaration at the APEC forum this time finally adopted the full formula Leaders Declaration G20 Bali, word by word, said Airlangga in an interview session with the media crew after the closing ceremony of the APEC 2022 Summit, as quoted by Antara, Sunday, November 20. He explained how tough the discussion was to be able to reach an agreement for Leaders Declaration at the APEC forum, but in the end all referred to the Bali G20 Leaders Declaration. This APEC Forum also encourages multilateralism and supports the results from The WTO's 12th Ministerial Conference (MC12) to encourage WTO as a platform in Asia Pacific to equalize trade law rules, because APEC is 60 percent of the world economy or the equivalent of 59 trillion US dollars,''' he said.

Furthermore, continued Airlangga, APEC economic leaders will encourage cooperation to bridge the digital gap through infrastructure facilitation, as well as improve digital expertise and literacy and strengthen the agricultural sector to support regional food security. Regarding the digital sector, APEC encourages empowerment ranging from empowerment of women and youth, to encouraging equality and inclusiveness of MSMEs. Indonesia supports the digitization of these MSMEs to become part of the global supply chain. In this year's APEC forum it is also encouraged on sustainable goods and services, which will be brought in the leadership of the United States next year., the APEC 2022 Summit also successfully agreed on The Bangkok Goals for the Bio-Circular Green Economy, which is a joint approach to economic recovery after the pandemic that is inclusive and balanced in order to realize more resilient economic growth and maintain a living environment. Almostly all discussion in this APEC has a common thread with that discussed in the G20, one of the strongest red threads between ASEAN, G20, and APEC is togetherness.
