JAKARTA - PT Bank BTPN Tbk recorded an increase in lending until the third quarter by 13 percent to Rp155.43 trillion.

Bank BTPN's credit growth was higher than the average credit growth in the banking industry, which was 11 percent yoy at the end of September 2022, based on Bank Indonesia data.

Bank BTPN President Director Henoch Munandar said credit growth also pushed Bank BTPN assets up 9 percent yoy to IDR 199.9 trillion at the end of the third quarter of 2022.

"Bank BTPN managed to maintain good credit quality, as reflected in the ratio of non-performing loans (NPL) at the level of 1.41 percent, down from the same position last year of 1.56 percent and lower than the industry average of 2.88 percent at the end of August 2022," he said in an official statement, Tuesday, November 1.

He added that BTPN also adjusted the amount of third party funds (DPK) with the need for credit funding and Bank liquidity needs.

In terms of DPK, Bank BTPN increased by 1 percent yoy to IDR 103.88 trillion at the end of September 2022.

Meanwhile, BTPN also recorded net profit growth of 18 percent in the third quarter of 2022 to Rp2.42 trillion from the same period the previous year of Rp2.05 trillion.

"The impressive growth of Bank BTPN's net profit cannot be separated from the optimism of the community and business actors in the economic growth and trust of our customers in Bank BTPN amid high inflation and the upward trend in bank interest rates," he explained.

Bank BTPN's net profit growth was mainly contributed by increased operating income and reduced credit costs.

Operating income rose 4 percent yoy supported by an increase in net interest income which rose 4 percent yoy to IDR 8.67 trillion at the end of September 2022 and other operating income of 5 percent yoy.

The increase in net interest income was driven by an increase in credit from the corporate segment by 23 percent yoy and Islamic financing by 11 percent yoy. Meanwhile, credit costs decreased 19 percent yoy to Rp1.29 trillion.

"We continue to monitor the credit quality of customers and maintain sufficient reserves of credit costs," said Henoch.

Henoch explained, Jenius recorded a growth in the number of registered users by almost 20 percent yoy to 4.21 million by the end of September 2022, from 3.51 million in the same period last year.

Jenius managed DPK also showed an increase of 33 percent yoy to Rp19.4 trillion, and the total credit disbursed through Jenius (Flxi Cash) reached Rp786.86 billion, or an increase of 185 percent yoy from Rp275.89 billion in the same period last year.

"With good performance and healthy fundamentals, we are optimistic that we can maintain this growth from time to time to meet the financial needs of our customers in various segments," he concluded.
