Anticipate Extreme Weather Throughout Indonesia, PLN Alert 50,000 Personnel

JAKARTA - Based on the BMKG rainfall forecast map, areas that have the potential to experience extreme weather of heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds can occur in almost all parts of Indonesia from Aceh to Papua.

For this reason, PT PLN (Persero) ensures personnel and heavy equipment preparedness to evacuate and secure electricity infrastructure in the event of flooding, fallen trees and network security.

PLN Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications and TJSL Gregorius Adi Trianto explained security measures to anticipate the dangers of electricity and prioritize the safety of citizens when emergency occurs.

"We have prepared more than 50 thousand personnel to remain alert from Aceh to Papua. We still prepare heavy equipment to be able to move quickly to carry out security and evacuation if something goes out of control," said Gregorius in an official statement, Saturday, October 15.

He also explained that in order to anticipate damage to electricity network infrastructure, PLN has carried out maintenance and also increased the level of substations in potential flood areas. In addition, PLN consistently conducts checks on the electricity distribution side to ensure it is in a safe and harmless position.

"We also urge the public to ensure that the electrical installation at home is safe and routinely checks," said Gregorius.

Furthermore, Gregorius conveyed that people who want to report information on disturbances or complaints can go through the PLN Mobile application.

"All electricity services can be accessed by the public through PLN Mobile, we continue to strive to improve services to customers," concluded Gregorius.
