JAKARTA - Through the Electricity New Installation Assistance Program (BPBL), the Government provides new power pairs to 1,476 households spread across 21 sub-districts in Banyumas, Central Java. This assistance is part of the electricity install assistance target for 80,000 households throughout Indonesia.
"From the 80,000 households throughout Indonesia, as of October 9, 2022, 33,324 households have been installed. For Central Java province, it is targeted that 9,332 prospective recipients and as of October 9, 2022, 6,527 households have been installed," said Jisman Hutajulu, Director of Electricity Concession Development in his statement, Thursday, October 13.
According to Jisman, this program shows that the Government is present in the midst of people in difficult and isolated areas who need lighting.
"This is proof that the state is present in the community to provide what the community needs," continued Jisman.
The BPBL program is a synergy between the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) of the DPR RI and PT PLN (Persero) to help get electricity. It is targeted that 80,000 underprivileged households living in frontier, underdeveloped and outermost (3T) will be targeted by this program through the State Budget (APBN) for Fiscal Year 2022.
On the same occasion, Chairman of Commission VII of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia Sugeng Suparwoto said electricity is the basic integrity that must be owned by the community wherever they are.
"Electricity has become the basic need for life, no longer a luxury item. Without electricity, justice has not been achieved," said Sugeng.
Sugeng emphasized that this assistance was free of charge or free because it had been budgeted in the state budget.
"This program is free and there should be no extortion, there is no additional fee because it has also been budgeted for in the state budget," said Adi.
As the executor of the activity, Director of Distribution of PT PLN (Persero) Adi Priyanto stated, PT PLN (Persero) is ready to carry out the assignments given by the Government and will meet the targets that have been set and hope that this activity will bring prosperity to the community.
"We are ready to carry out our duties with all our might to connect electricity to a total of 80,000 households for free. We will carry out it as well as possible and full of mandate. Hopefully this program can prosper the community and with electricity, the community's economy can grow even better," concluded Adi.
