Implement The Corex System, As Many As 6,000 Tax Director-General Employees Switching Focus From Supervision To Law Enforcement

JAKARTA - Expert Staff to the Minister of Finance for Tax Supervision, Nufransa Wira Sakti, said the implementation of the implementation of the tax administration core system or the Core Index system would strengthen supervision carried out by the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT).

Around 6,000 DGT employees who usually provide services to taxpayers can be shifted to taxpayers by implementing a new Corex system.

"If we calculate, with new information and technology systems in Coretax, we can empower human resources (HR) that used to focus on services into supervision, examination and law enforcement," he said in the Cermati Podcast quoted by Antara, Tuesday, October 11.

Services that were originally carried out conventionally will be used as services online so that taxpayers can make their own reports and payments.

"The employee who was previously in charge of providing the service will not be fired, but will be transferred to the supervisor," he added.

The new Corex system will be implemented in 2023 in line with the expansion of the taxpayer database through the application of the population identification number (NIK) as the principal number of taxpayers (NPWP).

Data related to taxpayers' economic activities will also be collected into systems that are integrated with inspections.

With a new system, the government can also classify taxpayers who require higher intensity supervision.

In the future, we will develop Dottax so that we can monitor taxpayers based on risk. Taxpayers who are at higher risk of not paying taxes will be closely monitored," he said.
