JAKARTA - In order to realize cooperation in the development of natural gas cylinder technology and infrastructure supporting 400,000 Home Connections (SR) in 2022, PGN Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Pindad and PT Industri Telekomunikasi Indonesia (INTI) on Friday, October 7 .

The signing of the MoU between PT PGN and PT Pindad was carried out by the Director of Infrastructure and Technology of PGN Achmad Muchtasyar and the Director of Technology and Development of PT Pindad, Sigit P. Santosa. Meanwhile, the signing of the MoU with PT Inti was carried out by Larassetyo Wibowo as Director of PGNCOM and President Director of PT INTI, Edi Witjara.

"PGN's collaboration with PT Pindad and PT Inti is a synergy between SOEs in optimizing domestic products for natural gas supporting infrastructure. With PT Pindad, PGN will develop natural gas distribution modes through CNG and LNG gas cylinders so that natural gas distribution can be more flexible Then with PT Inti, we will collaborate in producing smart meters for gas use," explained PGN's Director of Infrastructure and Technology, Achmad Muchtasyar, in his statement, quoted on Monday 10 October.

With PT Inti, it is expected to increase the implementation of digitization in calculating the use of natural gas so that it can be directly connected to the billing system. PT Inti has facilities to produce gas smart meters with an installed capacity of up to 4,000 units per month and can provide exploration space to increase capacity per month.

"This synergy is important so that people can enjoy gas, we support them for smart meters. This is the beginning of domestic products working in their own country. Hopefully, the domestic industry will grow and we BUMN must play a role in development. TKDN at PT INTI has been more than 40%. Especially for PGN, PT INTI is committed to helping gas downstream," said PT INTI President Director, Edi Witjara.

The synergy between PGN Group and PT Pindad will also reflect domestic capabilities towards natural gas energy sovereignty with natural gas infrastructure created by the nation's children. Currently, PGN is seeking a breakthrough in distributing natural gas through more movable tubes, namely the Gaslink Cylinder for distribution of CNG and VGL tubes for Retail LNG. Variations in tube sizes ranging from 175 L, 110 L, 80 L, 45 L, 30 L, and 15 L, will make it easier for PGN to serve the commercial sector.

"PT Pindad is ready to support PGN. Pindad's business derivatives will include CNG gas cylinders, LNG, and other equipment to support natural gas. Pindad welcomes, it is hoped that the MoU will be the starting point for the next collaboration. We must build domestic capabilities. Pindad is able to reverse engineering and continue to synergize with SOEs. Hopefully this collaboration will be useful," said PT Pindad's Director of Technology and Development, Sigit P. Santosa.

"PGN is also ready to support in terms of gas energy for PT Pindad for the production process and PT Inti in producing ceramics. With the increasing use of natural gas in the country, it will help reduce the use of imported energy," said Achmad.

PGN as Pertamina Gas Subholding hopes that this cooperation can run well in the future and provide benefits for all parties. The synergy of SOEs can also strengthen the contribution to national energy independence and encourage the use of domestic products.
