JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has decided not to change the electricity tariff (taiff adjustment) for 13 non-subsidized customers.

This decision is valid for the period October-December 2022 or the fourth quarter as of October 1 to December 31, 2022.

Acting (Plt) Director General of Electricity, Dadan Kusdiana said, the realization of macroeconomic parameters for the May-July 2022 period used in determining tariff adjustments (taff adjustment) for the fourth quarter of 2022 actually experienced a slight increase compared to the third quarter of 2022, so the rate for the fourth quarter of 2022 should also increase slightly.

However, said Dadan, looking at the current condition of the community and industry, the government has decided on the electricity tariff in the fourth quarter of 2022 or the October-December 2022 period for non-subsidized customers referring to the third quarter of 2022 or the tariff is fixed.

For your information, according to the Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 28 of 2016 concerning Electricity Tariffs provided by PT PLN (Persero) as last amended by the Regulation of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Number 3 of 2020.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) or PLN Darmawan Prasodjo emphasized that the government will continue to limit electricity rates for the October-December 2022 period even though the realization of macroeconomic parameters has increased.

Previously, electricity rates for 5 groups of non-subsidized customers officially increased since July 1, 2022.

As for the 5 groups of customers, 2 of them are household customers whose electricity rates increase by over 3,500 VA.

So far, government assistance has been provided to all groups of customer rates, in the form of subsidies or compensation. Since 2017, there has never been an increase in electricity rates for all customer tariff groups.
