More And More Local Governments Won WTP, Sri Mulyani: Pandemic Not A Reason To Manage Accountable Finance

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani welcomed the report from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) on audits conducted on the use of state money in various government agencies for the 2021 period.

According to him, last year's score was much better than 2020. The reason is, more state institutions have succeeded in predicated Unqualified (WTP).

"We will complete the 2021 implementation and then report it and audit it by the BPK. I am proud to see that the enthusiasm of the ministries/agencies and local governments (local governments) who received WTP status is increasing," he said during a press conference in Jakarta, Thursday, September 22.

According to the Minister of Finance's notes, the number of local governments who received only WTP rose to 500 regions out of a total of 542 regions or equivalent to 912 percent of the total.

"This is better than 2020 in the first year of the pandemic, the percentage is 89.7 percent," he said.

Meanwhile, for agencies within the central government, it is stated that there are 83 of the 87 ministries/agencies that receive the unqualified title.

"In fact, many of them have received WTP for 5 consecutive years, 10 consecutive years, up to 15 consecutive years," said the Minister of Finance.

For this reason, the state treasurer continues to encourage the commitment of all agencies to be more proficient in managing the budget that has been given.

"In a very difficult and challenging atmosphere like dealing with COVID-19, it is not an excuse not to carry out accountability APBN and APBD management," he asserted.
