Member Of Commission VII Of The DPR Asks For Production Of Electricity Composites Using Local Components

JAKARTA - Member of Commission VII DPR RI Sartono Hutomo asked the government to use local components when producing electric stoves (induction).

In addition, the induction stove is expected to save electricity.

"The excess supply of electricity must indeed be absorbed by the industry. Now how can this (comport) technology be accepted by the public easily and cheaply. We hope that the electricity stove and LPG (Kg) can continue to run at the same time. However, looking at the components of the electric stove product, it seems that it can only be for the upper middle class," Sartono said at a meeting of Commission VII with the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) in Jakarta, Wednesday, September 21.

Sartono called for the Ministry of Industry to reconstruct electric stove products with more dominant absorption of local components.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Metal, Machinery for Transportation and Electronics (ILMATE) Taufiek Bawazier before Commission VII of the DPR explained that there were ten components in the electric stove.

In detail, the six components come from local products and the remaining four components must be imported.

Taufiek targets an additional 5 million electric stoves to start every year in 2023.

Based on the plan he received from PLN and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), there will be an energy migration program from gas stoves to electric stoves of 300 units in 2022, and 5 million units each in 2023-2025.

The total reached 15.3 million units of electric stoves which would be exchanged for public gas stoves.

"We believe that this program is directed for the national interest and as much as possible to benefit the community. In its implementation, because the goal is only to replace it, it means less. Don't let people use induction and LPG. At least the name is conversion once it is installed by PLN, then LPG is taken," said Taufiek.

Previously, the government planned to distribute electric stove packages for households.

The discourse, which will be realized this year, is part of the electricity stove conversion program from a 3-kilogram LPG gas stove.

The package is planned to be distributed to 300,000 people for free.
