JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) stated that the increase in domestic selling prices to IDR 10,000 per liter does not reflect the current real value.

Head of the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) of the Ministry of Finance, Febrio, stated that the economic price of pertalite type fuel oil (BBM) should be Rp. 13,150 per liter.

"For pertalite, the state budget bears IDR 3,150 per liter," he said in a meeting with Commission XI of the DPR today, Monday, September 12.

According to Febrio, the same thing happened to diesel fuel with a subsidy value of IDR 7,950 per liter, Pertamax IDR 924 per liter, and 3 kg LPG gas with state subsidy support of IDR 31,275 per tube.

"This is a subsidy value enjoyed by the community," he said.

As is known, at the beginning of this month the government decided to adjust the selling price of fuel to the community with the consideration that subsidized funds were running low. Initially, the addition of the 2022 subsidy budget to Rp502 trillion was expected to reach the end of the year.

However, the government's latest calculation states that with the current consumption pattern, diesel and pertalite will last no later than until next October.

Meanwhile, for 2023 the value of the subsidized budget and compensation provided by the government is around Rp336 trillion.
