Encourage Digital Transaction Expansion, Bank Indonesia Supports The Solo City Government Strategic Program

JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia (BI) is said to continue to make efforts to expand digital financial transactions in the community by optimizing all facilities and services that have been developed.

Most recently, the central bank established a collaboration with the Surakarta City Government at the Adipati Festival (Acceleration of the Digitalization of Terkat Arrangers) as the pre-strategic event for the annual Solo Great Sale (SGS).

BI Governor Perry Warjiyo said this step was also the launch of SAP QRIS (Healthy, Innovative, Safe, Using QRIS) and BI Fast as a continuation of efforts to accelerate national digital payments.

"Bank Indonesia's policy is clear to encourage economic growth through public consumption," he taught in an official statement quoted on Monday, September 5.

According to Perry, this can be realized, one of which is through the SGS event which is expected to penetrate the target transaction of IDR 1.3 trillion.

Through QRIS and BI Fast facilities, the transaction process is fast so that MSMEs can immediately receive money for their business turnover. In addition, QRIS makes fast, easy, cheap, safe, and reliable transactions to increase public spending," he said.

Perry added, SIAP QRIS is a continuation of efforts to digitize the payment ecosystem which had previously been implemented through traditional market programs, shopping centers, and MSMEs in Solo Raya.

"The 2022 SGS agenda which will be held from September 25 to October 30, 2022, will be supported by 23,000 tenants from various sectors such as hotels, restaurants, traditional markets, and others by targeting transactions of Rp. 1.3 trillion," he said.

The inauguration of this collaboration was also attended by the Mayor of Surakarta, the Chairman of the Surakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a number of related stakeholders.
