JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif gave a signal that the price of fuel oil (BBM) may be rising soon, when asked if there was a possibility of an announcement of an increase in fuel prices being made on August 31, 2022. He said that so far the plan to increase fuel prices is still being finalized. The government has prepared a cushion of Rp24.17 trillion to the public as additional social assistance for the plan to transfer fuel subsidies. Of the total social assistance of Rp. 24.17 trillion, the community will be given three types of assistance in the form of direct cash assistance, wage subsidy assistance, and allocation of local government general transfer funds to help the transportation sector in their respective regions.
