JAYAPURA - Bank Indonesia Representative Office (KPw) Papua Province invites coffee MSME players from Papua to immediately enter the digital ecosystem. The goal is that local coffee commodities can continue to make a real contribution to the people of Bumi Cenderawasih.

Head of the Bank Indonesia Papua Province Representative Office, Juli Budi Winantya, said that the Papua Coffee Festival from year to year continues to attract visitors, as evidenced by available data.

"It was recorded that the number of daily visitors was 4,011 people, an increase of 43.20 percent compared to the same event the previous year, which was 2,801 visitors," he said, quoted by Antara, Sunday, August 28.

Juli targets the implementation of the Coffee Festival next year to be able to attract more visitors so that the value of financing and recorded transactions can be greater.

"That way, it can support the growth and development of coffee commodities and contribute to the development of digitalization," he said.

He explained that the Papuan Coffee Festival could also be an event to continue to introduce Papuan coffee products in the national and international arena. This is in line with the theme of RI's 77th Anniversary "Recover Faster, Rise Stronger".

"The success of organizing the festival is a cross-agency collaboration that further strengthens beliefs about the potential and attractiveness of Papua Province," he said.

He added that his party hopes that all Papuan coffee MSMEs can go international, as there are currently 50 MSMEs currently being assisted to enter the digital platform or onboarding.

Previously at the 2022 Papuan Coffee Festival and the 77th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, as many as 69 MSMEs participated in the event with details of 24 of the Papuan coffee business actors and the rest being handicrafts, fashion, and culinary or processed foods. The event starts from 23-27 August 2022 at Cenderawasih Sports Center.
