JAKARTA - The government of Kudus Regency, Central Java, is targeting the construction of three cigarette production warehouses worth Rp. 4.7 billion to increase capacity in the Tobacco Products Industrial Estate (KIHT) starting in September 2022.

"Currently it has entered the screening stage at the Goods and Services Working Group after previously going through the stage of reviewing the self-estimated price (HPS) at the Kudus Inspectorate," said the Head of the Industrial Manpower, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Office of Kudus Regency, Rini Kartika Hadi Ahmawati in Kudus. , quoted from Antara, Tuesday, August 23.

After the auction, he said, the work is expected to start in September 2022 because according to the planning, the construction of three buildings with different sizes will take about 90 days.

Of the three buildings to be built, there are those with a size of IDR 400 square meters with a budget of IDR 1.8 billion, then a size of 300 square meters with a budget requirement of IDR 1.6 billion and a size of 200 square meters with a budget of IDR 1.3 billion. The construction budget comes from the excise and tobacco product sharing fund (DBHCHT).

"Later on, there will be three work packages, so the target of 90 days of work can certainly be achieved," he said.

With the addition of three production buildings, the KIHT has changed from 11 warehouses to 13 warehouses as a response to the high interest of small cigarette entrepreneurs to rent these places.

The Office of Manpower, Industry, Cooperatives, UKM Kudus noted that up to now there are 17 small cigarette entrepreneurs who have registered to be able to occupy the KIHT. However, because their capacity is limited, they have to be patient.

With the increase in the capacity of cigarette entrepreneurs in KIHT this year, there will be two small cigarette entrepreneurs who can enter. Meanwhile, one warehouse is planned for a cigarette making machine which will be rented out to small cigarette entrepreneurs.

KIHT was previously a Small Industrial Environment (LIK) for the Tobacco Products Industry which was built in Megawon Village, Jati District, Kudus Regency. Apart from providing 11 warehouses for cigarette production, there is also a wastewater treatment plant (IPAL) equipped with a tar and nicotine testing laboratory.
