JAKARTA - Netizens were shocked by the news of the alleged data leak belonging to 17 million PLN customers who were sold on the breached.to web page.

Based on VOI monitoring, several PLN customer data that are claimed to be sold include field ID, customer ID, customer name, energy type, KWH, home address, meter number, meter type, to the name of the UPI unit.

The data seller with the account name "loliyta" also included 10 data samples from 17 million PLN customer information, all of which came from Aceh.

PT PLN (Persero), ensures that customer data is safe and services run normally.

This was conveyed following the leak of information on PLN's customer data.

PLN spokesman Gregorius Adi Trianto said the data managed by PLN was in a safe condition.

Gregorius added that the circulating data is replication data, not actual transactional data and is no longer updated.

"We make sure that PLN's data server is safe and not entered by other parties. The customer's actual transaction data is safe," said Gregorius to VOI, Friday, August 19.

He added that PLN has and continues to implement layered security with the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) for very strict security measures with the aim of strengthening and protecting customer data.

"We are currently investigating authorized users and coordinating with law enforcement officials if there are indications of violations of the law regarding the confidentiality of company data," concluded Gregorius.
