Government Aims For State Revenue Of Rp2,443.6 Trillion In 2023, Taxation Sector Still Dominates

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has set a state revenue target of IDR 2,443.6 trillion in the 2023 APBN Bill which was submitted to the DPR today. According to the Head of State, the amount is still dominated by tax recipients (taxes along with customs and excise) with a total of Rp2,016.9 trillion.

Then the Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) is expected to reach Rp426.3 trillion.

"To strengthen independence in development funding, we will continue tax reform. Tax reform is carried out through expanding the tax base, increasing compliance, and improving tax governance and administration in order to increase the tax ratio," he said at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 16. .

The President explained that the government also continues to provide various appropriate and measurable tax incentives and is expected to be able to accelerate the recovery and increase the competitiveness of national investment, as well as spur economic transformation.

"By observing the need for state spending and optimizing state revenues, the budget deficit in 2023 is planned at 2.85 percent of GDP or Rp. 598.2 trillion. The budget deficit in 2023 is the first year we return to a maximum deficit of 3 percent of GDP," he said.

For information, the budget deficit was formed from the larger amount of state spending with Rp. 3,041.7 trillion compared to the revenue sector, which was previously stated at Rp. 2,443.6 trillion.
