For The Sake Of Economic Revival After Being Hit By COVID-19, The Government Is Asked To Restore Tourism In Bali

JAKARTA - The government and all stakeholders are asked to restore the tourism sector on the island of Bali which has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This step is important so that economic conditions on the Island of the Gods can bounce back.

This was conveyed by an advocate, curator and administrator of Wibhisana and Partner, Yudhi Wibhisana. He said with the recovery, it is hoped that economic conditions in Bali will be like 2019 or before the pandemic.

"Where domestic tourist visits to Bali reached 10.5 million and foreign tourists reached 6.3 million," said Yudhi in the talk show Bankruptcy and Restructuring Forum 2022 themed Recover (Bali) Together: Waiting for Recovery Solutions and Business Continuity which was held on Saturday, 11 August.

Yudhi assessed that the government should pay attention to the current condition of Bali. Moreover, this island is a showcase for Indonesian tourism.

"If this is successful, Bali's economic growth will reach 5.3 percent exceeding national economic growth with the contribution of the tourism sector (tertiary sector) reaching 61 percent in Bali's Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDBR)," he explained.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor of Bali Tjok Oka AA Sukawati or Cok Ace also confirmed that the economy in Bali was the lowest in Indonesia. This condition occurs due to the impact of COVID-19.

So, he hopes for help to restore the economy of Bali. "Because efforts are needed from various parties, the point is how to save Bali's economy," said Cok Ace.
