Bahlil Wants Indonesian Students Abroad To Become Entrepreneurs

JAKARTA - Investment Minister/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia encourages Indonesian students abroad to have a business spirit and contribute to the nation, so that they can become investment bridges for Indonesia in the international arena.

This was stated by Bahlil while attending the launch of the Global Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the World Association of Indonesian Students (PPI) in Jakarta, Monday 8 August, where he said that now students can take advantage of the ease of business licensing provided by the government through the Online Single Submission (OSS). to open a business.

"I support these students to open a business. You can use OSS to make a Business Identification Number (NIB). So your business is legally protected," he said in a written statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday 10 August.

The Global CEO of PPI Dunia was formed from the collaboration between PPI Dunia, represented by the Chairperson of the Coordinator of PPI Dunia, Faruq Ibnul Haqi, and Yayasan Harapan Indonesia Gemilang (Hanida) which was attended by the Founder of the Hanida Foundation, Sri Suparni Bahlil.

PPI Dunia with a network in 60 countries together with the Hanida Foundation established the International Lumbung Community to form joint programs in social, humanitarian, and community matters.

This collaboration is expected to be a forum for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to develop their market network throughout the world.

The founder of the Hanida Foundation Sri Suparni Bahlil in his speech said that MSMEs are one of the drivers of the national economy that play a role in Indonesia's economic recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Therefore, he continued, there needs to be a movement that can build business networks both at home and abroad for MSMEs through collaboration with PPI Dunia.

"With the launch of the Global CEO of PPI Dunia, we hope that this can be a forum for overseas students to start businesses, so that they can also become a bridge for SMEs to have global competitiveness," said Sri.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of PPI Dunia Faruq Ibnul Haqi explained that this activity can foster entrepreneurial spirit and give birth to young Indonesian entrepreneurs abroad and contribute to the marketing of Indonesian MSME products in the global market.

"We view that with the PPI World network, it becomes an extraordinary potential when the president gives an investment target. This is a bridge to the world through PPI programs in the world," said Faruq.

PPI Dunia is an organization of Indonesian students who are studying abroad. Currently, PPI Dunia has a network in 60 countries spread across three regions, namely Asia-Oceania, America-Europe, and the Middle East-Africa.

This collaboration is a concrete step for PPI Dunia in carrying out its vision and mission to contribute to achieving Indonesia Gold 2045.
