Mendag Zulhas Asks Entrepreneurs To Buy TBS Sawit From Farmers Above IDR 2,000 Per Kg

JAKARTA - Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) asked oil palm plantation entrepreneurs to be obliged to buy Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) from farmers and partners at prices above Rp. 2,000 per kilogram (Kg).

"I ask that starting next week, the price of FFB must be above Rp. 2,000 per kilogram and entrepreneurs must comply with the agreed rules," Zulhas said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 2.

The policy, he continued, was taken after conducting a dialogue with oil palm farmers.

During a dialogue with oil palm farmers and entrepreneurs in Jambi, Zulhas emphasized that in the next week the price of FFB must be above Rp 2,000 per kilogram.

"This is a direct instruction from the President, I as the Minister of Trade convey that next week the price of FFB will be above Rp. 2,000 per kilogram," said the Minister of Trade.

The Ministry of Trade, said Zulhas, has removed the export tax imposed on palm oil entrepreneurs.

"Both partners and non-partners of the company, the price (FFB) must be above Rp. 2,000 per kilogram. If you don't dare, you can protest, don't sell the FFB," said the Trade Minister.

Previously, from the information obtained, Trade Minister Zulhas arrived at Sultan Thaha Saifuddin Airport in Jambi at 10:00 WIB and was greeted by the Governor of Jambi, Al Haris.

There are several agendas for the Minister of Trade's visit to Jambi, namely a visit to the Jambi Angsoduo Market, the laying of the first stone for PT Nusantara Green Energy at Simpang Jelutih, Batanghari Regency.

In addition, Zulhas is also scheduled to make a visit to the PT Kurnia Tunggal Cooking Oil Factory in Muarojambi.

Zulhas plans to only make a one-day visit in Jambi and will return to Jakarta this afternoon.
