JAKARTA - The Central Jakarta Commercial Court has decided that a state-owned company, PT Istaka Karya (Persero) is bankrupt or bankrupt after operating for 43 years.

Meanwhile, management will take care of the bankruptcy estate (boedel) and will coordinate with the curator for the next process after being declared bankrupt.

In response to this, member of the House of Representatives Commission VI, Rudi Hartono Bangun, assessed that the Ministry of SOEs should immediately dissolve Istaka Karya.

"In addition to burdening the state's finances, due to Istaka Karya's large debt, it will also cause many new problems. Such as efforts to eliminate Istaka Karya's assets that have existed since its establishment," said Rudi in his official statement, Wednesday.

For information, PT Istaka Karya is one of seven SOEs that will be dissolved by SOE Minister Erick Thohir.

In order, Istaka Karya is the sixth BUMN to be dissolved after PT Pembangunan Armada Niaga Nasional (PANN).

Rudi added, the directors and staff of Istaka Karya also have the potential to become a burden on state finances, because their salaries must be paid even though the state-owned company is inactive, aka ghost SOEs, as stated by SOE Minister Erick Thohir.

"The sooner (Istaka Karya) is disbanded, the healthier the Ministry of SOE's finances will be and reduce the burden on state finances. As I said in the last working meeting with the Minister of SOEs, the Ministry of SOEs must act quickly. It doesn't take long to dissolve SOEs that are eating away at state money," he said.

As of 2021, it is known that Istaka Karya has a total liability of Rp. 1.08 trillion with the company's equity recorded at minus Rp. 570 billion.

Meanwhile, the company's total assets were recorded at IDR 514 billion.

“My message is that the finances of every state-owned company must be investigated by the BPKP or BPK, at the request of the Indonesian House of Representatives. So that all financial performance and problems will be exposed,” concluded Rudi.
