PLN Transformes For The Sake Of Being A Energy Company For The Future

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) continues to carry out business transformations to answer all the challenges of the times towards future energy companies.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo explained that in the last few years, many challenges require rapid change, starting from climate change, technological disruption and the world's geopolitical situation.

"The era of being full of disruptions like today is all moving very fast. PLN as a state-owned company needs to be determined and adaptable in responding to the challenges of the world," Darmawan told the media, Friday, July 8.

Meanwhile, throughout 2021 PLN recorded an increase in sales revenue of IDR 14 trillion, an increase in EBITDA 2.9 percent, an increase in tax contribution of IDR 5.7 trillion, and a reduction in electricity supply cost (BPP) of IDR 15 per kilowatt hour (kWh).

Darmawan added that one of the steps taken was by transforming the organizational structure and business processes.

PLN melakukan pembenahan organisasi guna membuat proses bisnis lebih agile dan cepat. Terutama dalam hal pengambilan keputusan perlu langkah cepat dalam mengeluarkan kebijakan dan peningkatan layanan kepada masyarakat.

"Transformation changes what was previously complex, complicated, slow, counterproductive services into streamlined, agile, simple, dynamic, and professional," said Darmawan.

With sustainable transformation, corporations will be able to survive in the midst of disruption, even becoming a national force in serving the community in the electricity sector and developing other businesses.

In the future, said Darmawan, PLN must be able to become The Future Energy Provider.

In addition, he continued, the transformation step for the governance of this company was also taken to provide a multiplier effect for the community as a whole and provide added value for the country.

"We have one goal, so that PLN is stronger. We are one struggle to continue to transform, and make PLN better," concluded Darmawan.
