JAKARTA - The Ministry of Trade revealed that the new Oil production will run optimally within two weeks or 20 July to be exact.

This is because cooking oil factories are still queuing up to get the raw materials for the Oilita packaging.

The Director of Basic and Important Materials of the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag), Isy Karim said, currently there are only two producers that produce Oil.

However, in total there are 28 factories that have applied for permits to the Ministry of Trade to produce Oilita.

Furthermore, Isy said, currently these factories are preparing to produce Oilita.

One of them is ordering plastic which will be used to package the Oilita. Therefore, it takes two weeks to run optimally.

"One to two weeks (Oilita's production is just running full, right now my friends (cooking oil factory) are ordering plastic," he told reporters quoted on Thursday, July 7.

In addition to ordering the raw materials for the Oilita packaging, said Isy, the Ministry of Trade must take care of the administration of each factory that will produce the Oilita.

Among them are the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) certificate for cooking oil packaging by the Ministry of Industry, and a distribution permit number from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM).

Isy said that it is safe for the Ministry of Trade to issue a permit to use the Oilita brand within two days after the permit is submitted by the company.

Furthermore, Isy promised to facilitate companies that will produce Oilita to obtain an SNI certificate for cooking oil packaging and a distribution permit number.

"Although at BPOM the process will continue, but the issuance (of the distribution permit number) will be accelerated by us (two days after submission)," he said.
