JAKARTA – The performance of tax revenue ahead of the close of the first half of this year showed encouraging results.

Citing the realization of the 2022 state budget until last May, it is known that tax revenues have recorded IDR 705.82 trillion or 55.8 percent of the overall target ceiling for the year of IDR 1,265 trillion.

Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani said that the score grew 53.5 percent compared to the same period in 2021 with Rp459.6 trillion.

"Excellent tax revenue until May 2022 is influenced by several factors, namely the trend of increasing commodity prices, expansive economic growth and good domestic demand, as well as a low base in 2021," he said through a virtual channel at a press conference in the State Budget Kita. , Thursday, June 23.

According to the Minister of Finance, this sector's revenue growth was also influenced by restitution, which decreased by 8.5 percent compared to the previous year.

"Gross tax revenue growth in May to June 2022 was lower than the net, which was 43 percent," he said.

Furthermore, the state treasurer also revealed that the government is currently rolling out a certain tax facility scheme contained in the Voluntary Disclosure Program (PPS).

"Tax revenues are also influenced by the implementation of PPS, the increase in VAT rates, and the maintenance of economic activity," closed the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.
