Wins PKPU, Garuda Focuses On Pursuing Profits From Domestic And Cargo Routes

JAKARTA - President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra, revealed that the airline will focus on domestic flights, especially flights with routes that are considered profitable.

In addition, Garuda will also focus on cargo.

"Basically about the business plan, we will focus on domestic. On profitable routes and we will continue to serve international routes for Umrah, Hajj, and we will focus on cargo. We will fly out of it if it is profitable," he said during a press conference at the office. Garuda Indonesia, Friday 17 June.

Furthermore, Irfan said, it was the business plan that succeeded in bringing Garuda Indonesia to obtain a peace agreement from creditors.

Based on the results of the voting recapitulation, Garuda was able to reach the vote threshold which is a requirement for homologation with the acquisition of 97.46 percent of the total number of creditors.

"We want to focus on the future, hopefully this will become an important historical part of Garuda's history that will get better in the future. The business plan that we convey that makes creditors believe and say yes to our peace proposal is a business plan that is based on profitability," he said.

On that occasion, Irfan said he was happy that Garuda was finally able to obtain a peace agreement in the PKPU process.

Because, this PKPU has been running since December 9, 2021 or has been rolling for 7 months.

"It was really tiring negotiating day and night, we finally succeeded in producing a peace proposal which, thank God, was accepted by 97.46 percent. This shows that creditors have very high confidence in Garuda's future plans," he said.

Based on the recapitulation of the voting results, the meeting to announce the votes for the Garuda Indonesia peace was attended by 365 concurrent creditors, 326 creditors physically and 39 creditors online with a total of 12,479,432 voting rights.

Concurrent creditors who agreed to the peace proposal were 347 creditors or 95.07 percent of the total number of concurrent creditors present and a total of 12,126,455 votes that together represented 97.46 percent of all concurrent creditors who attended today's meeting.

The concurrent creditors who rejected the peace plan were 15 creditors or 4.11 percent of the total number of concurrent creditors who attended with a total vote of 302,058 and represented 2.424 percent of the total votes of concurrent creditors in the meeting.

For your information, the trial for the announcement of the Garuda PKPU voting results will be held on June 20, 2022. The supervisory judge said he would recommend from the Garuda PKPU voting on 17 June.
