JAKARTA - PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS) or BSI is ready to serve more than 80 percent of the total Indonesian pilgrims at 13 hajj embarkations. It was recorded that the total BSI regular hajj pilgrims departing in 2022 were more than 73,000 of the total Indonesian hajj pilgrims.

This amount consists of 20 percent Jakarta-Bekasi embarkation, then 18 percent Solo embarkation and the rest are scattered in cities throughout Indonesia.

"Alhamdulillah, in the first year BSI was established, BSI has won the trust of the people who want to carry out the pilgrimage as their Hajj payment partner. Hopefully all the pilgrims who depart this year will become a mabrur hajj," said BSI President Director Hery Gunardi in his statement, quoted on Monday, June 6.

Based on data from the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, the total number of pilgrims who received a hajj quota for this year amounted to more than 100 thousand pilgrims or 100,051 pilgrims to be precise. The number is dominated by 90 percent by regular pilgrims and the rest by special pilgrims.

Hajj is one of the focuses of Bank Syariah Indonesia in developing an Islamic ecosystem. This pilgrimage is a characteristic and a mandate for Islamic banks to provide excellent service for all pilgrims.

"Alhamdulillah, BSI continues to gain trust from customers, which is reflected in the public's interest in preparing for hajj through BSI hajj savings, namely as of March 2022 that more than 4.4 million customers have saved hajj savings at BSI," said BSI Sales & Distribution Director Anton Sukarna .

The plan is for the first batch to be released on June 4, 2022 at the embarkation points of Jakarta Pondok Gede, Jakarta Bekasi, Padang, Surabaya and Solo.

Anton added that BSI is ready to be part of the pilgrimage journey for Indonesian pilgrims, starting from pre-departure to returning for Hajj when they arrive in their homeland.
