JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) cooperates with PT PLN (Persero) to empower the anti-corruption business world through the cultivation of integrity values.
This collaboration was marked by the implementation of technical guidance (bimtek) for the anti-corruption business world which was held from PLN's head office, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 31.
Based on KPK data, from 2004 to December 2021 there were 345 corruption actors from the private sector or the business world.
This figure accounts for around 25 percent of the total number of corruption actors, namely 1,360 people.
The mode that is mostly used is related to bribery and gratification, which reached 802 cases.
Next is the procurement of goods and services as many as 263 cases and related to licensing 25 cases.
Acting (Plt) Deputy for Education and KPK Participation, Wawan Wardiana said on this occasion, PLN and the KPK would wear vests with the "Dare to be Honest is Great" logo as a form of PLN and KPK's commitment to implementing good corporate governance.
"PT PLN is the first BUMN to wear a collaboration vest between BUMN and the KPK. We hope this will be PLN's commitment to help prevent corruption," said Wawan in Jakarta, Tuesday, March 31.
In addition, this vest will also be worn by all PLN personnel while on duty, both PLN field officers and at the office as a reminder not to commit acts of corruption and gratification.
"It is also a reminder for the public not to give tips and things to officers in the field," he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), Nurul Ghufron in his speech said that there are two ways to prevent corruption by the KPK, namely through system improvement and increasing integrity.
Ghufron explained that a clear, concise, and transparent system would not create a gap for corrupt and collusive behavior in running the company's business.
"If it's not clear, people will be lazy to deal with it, then they will use brokers to smooth things out," he said.
He continued, the ambiguity of the system could include costs, time and procedural requirements, giving rise to the practice of middlemen with the lure of being able to expedite all affairs, even though at a higher cost.
"We hope that this collaboration will not stop at the installation of an anti-corruption vest. Because if you have a press conference wearing an orange vest it will be scary, it is better to wear an anti-corruption vest with an anti-corruption vest," concluded Ghufron.
