JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) recorded an increase in consumption of fuel oil (BBM) at the peak of the homecoming flow on H-2 before Lebaran, which increased by 41 percent compared to normal conditions.

This condition is much higher than the initial estimate which the average during the homecoming period increased by 11 percent.

"In the backflow, Pertamina managed to meet the BBM needs of travelers, which increased by more than 29 percent at its peak, the figure looks lower because the distribution of backflow travelers is more flexible," said President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Sub Holding Commercial & Trading PT Pertamina ( Persero) Alfian Nasution in an official statement, Tuesday 10 May.

All homecomers, said Alfian, are served optimally and Pertamina continues to monitor every day so that stock and distribution at gas stations run well.

"To meet the extraordinary need for fuel throughout this homecoming and return flow," he explained.

Alfian added, the trend of fuel consumption can be seen during the H+3 to H+6 period of reverse flow.

The area with the highest increase in consumption occurred in Brebes Regency reaching 813 kilo liters (KL) per day or an increase of 120 percent compared to the normal average of only 368 KL/day.

The regions with the next highest consumption are Kebumen Regency, 678 KL/day or an increase of 119 percent compared to normal conditions of 309 KL/day, and Tegal Regency 743 KL/day or an increase of 102 percent compared to normal conditions at 366 KL/day.

In addition, records were not only broken on land routes, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) noted that the movement of aircraft and passengers at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport reached a record high since the pandemic on Sunday 8 May or D+5 Lebaran which is predicted to be the peak of the return flow. there are 1,130 flights with 150,000 passengers.

"This is also evident from the consumption of Avtur at the peak of the backflow last Friday, Saturday and Sunday which increased by more than 24 percent nationally," concluded Alfian.
