PT Jasa Marga Performance Improves Along With Economic Recovery, Targets 15 Percent Revenue Increase

JAKARTA - Jasa Marga's Director of Finance and Risk Management Ade Wahyu said that the performance of Jasa Marga Tbk. is getting better now. They also project financial performance growth in the first quarter of 2022, which is better than the first quarter of 2021.

Jasa Marga also stated that the projected increase in toll revenue in the first quarter of 2022 will grow by more than 15 percent compared to the same period last year. This achievement was driven by the restoration of traffic and the implementation of Government policies in relaxing people's travels.

"Gross profit in the first quarter of 2022 is projected to grow by more than 9 percent year-on-year or YoY and current profit is also projected to grow very significantly," Ade said in a written statement received by Antara, in Jakarta, Sunday, May 1.

He mentioned that one of the factors that contributed to this increase was the support from media partners who were aggressively reporting positive news about the handling of the pandemic and updating its policies so that people dared to return to travel.

Throughout 2021, almost all Jasa Marga Group toll roads experienced an increase in traffic volume compared to the previous year, except for the Sedyatmo Toll Road which is a direct access to Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

However, his party sees that in the first quarter of 2022 the traffic increase on the Sedyatmo Toll Road has reached 25 percent compared to last year.

"This is already extraordinary. In terms of traffic, Jasa Marga Group's Toll Roads in 2021 have relatively not grown compared to traffic before the pandemic. However, in terms of toll revenue, it has exceeded the period before the pandemic," said Ade.

For this reason, he is optimistic that with an increase in traffic going forward, Jasa Marga has a very high opportunity to increase toll revenue in 2022.

Ade hopes that the financial performance projected to grow in the first quarter of 2022 will continue to be reflected in the second quarter until the end of this year.

"We also hope that the handling of the homecoming and return flow for Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijriah will run smoothly, and traffic management will be even better," he said.
