"We hope that BUMD management will not only pursue annual or short-term business performance, but also invest so that BUMD's business can grow sustainably in the long term," said Lutfi, in his statement, quoted Thursday, April 21.

In his remarks at the event, the Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, said that now the handling of COVID-19 in Indonesia is improving.

"As a result, we are now in a new economic order," he said.

Sandiaga then asked BUMDs throughout Indonesia not to be complacent. "Continue to innovate, improve performance, and step on the gas," said Sandi.

The Head of the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs BPSDM, Sugeng Hariyono, said that the world, including Indonesia, was struggling to recover from COVID-19. There, the local government and BUMD need to map the business portfolio.

"Map, which ones need to survive, need to be pushed faster, and so on," said Sugeng.

Reading the remarks from the Indonesian Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Sugeng also said that to advance BUMD, integrative and synergistic steps were needed.

That synergy can be good. For example, now there are 26 BPDs with assets of IDR 796.45 trillion. Loans were disbursed at IDR 473 trillion.

"With large assets, of course, BPD can boost the economy," he said.
