JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said that it had deployed three teams to cover potholes on the Sumatra Cross Road (Jalinsum).
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said his party through the Lampung National Road Management Agency (BPJN) had closed at least 150 holes in Jalinsum.
"In Jalinsum, we are also repairing the potholes in stages with patches," he said, quoted by Antara, Friday, April 15.
He said that the three teams that had been deployed continued to move to cover the holes in Jalinsum, both in the Central Cross and the East Lampung Cross.
"As for the priority roads, all roads will be carried out, both Central and Eastern. In the East Cross to the South Sumatra border, there are around 100 potholes that are projected before Lebaran is completed," he said.
He also hoped that in the remaining 7 days the three teams that were deployed would be able to complete repairs and close the holes in the Jalinsum.
"In the remaining 7 days of work, the team will continue to move, so each team will complete how many holes. Hopefully before Lebaran is over," he said.
He also said that specifically on the Sumatra and Java national roads, PUPR would also establish a Saptaruna post for homecomers.
"So the Saptaruna post is not placed on toll roads but at posts outside toll roads or specifically for national roads. These posts are also equipped with toilets," he said.
