Erick Thohir Challenges Young People To Open Jobs Through Digital Entrepreneurship

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir wants young people to play a role in national economic development. The trick is to become an economic driver through the development of digital technology, which is currently growing rapidly.

Furthermore, Erick said, it is not enough for young Indonesians to be a digital native generation. Therefore, Erick also challenges the younger generation of Indonesia to take advantage of the development of digital technology which is currently growing rapidly to create job opportunities.

"I also challenge the younger generation to create jobs. One of them is through digital entrepreneurship," he said, quoted from his official Instagram @erickthohir, Wednesday, April 6.

According to Erick, the younger generation must have a good work ethic, be committed, and have a wide network. Because, like it or not, the younger generation must be the spearhead of the nation's economy.

"Indonesia's young generation must be ready to become the driving element of the Indonesian economy, so they must equip themselves with the education and skills needed in the era of digital disruption," he said.

Erick said that to create new entrepreneurs, especially in the digital sector, state-owned companies work together to support and facilitate three things, namely infrastructure, funding, and market access.

For this reason, Erick hopes that the younger generation will continue to improve their abilities, considering the current conditions are very easy to obtain via the internet.

"I really hope that our young generation wherever they are, you must improve your capability in this very fast changing era. And you are the champions," he concluded.
