JAKARTA - Subholding Gas PT Pertamina (Persero), through its affiliate PT Pertagas Niaga, has tested the use of compressed natural gas (CNG) at the Mengwi Terminal, Badung, Bali, to support the use of clean energy and the restoration of tourism on the Island of the Gods. .

The first CNG supply in Bali was transported by PT Patra Logistik from East Java. After arriving at Mengwi Terminal, the CNG is transferred to the MRU facility, which then fills the CNG with smaller packages, namely the CNG cradle.
"With the CNG cradle, which is more compact and mobile, we are targeting that the industry in Bali will be interested in it, especially hotels, restaurants, cafes or laundry," Aminuddin explained.
Aminuddin added that CNG has advantages in terms of safety and economical prices. CNG is natural gas which is compressed with a pressure of up to 250 bar and then stored in pressure vessel tubes for easy distribution. The gas products are prioritized to meet the needs of industries whose areas have not been connected to pipes. In addition, CNG is also used to fuel the transportation sector.
On the same day, a meeting of potential customers was also held at The Trans Resort Hotel, Bali, which became a pilot project hotel using CNG, attended by the Regional Secretary of Badung Bali Regency I Wayan Adi Arnawa along with 150 consumers from industry, hospitals, hotels, restaurants and café.
The entry of the first CNG to Bali was welcomed by the Badung Regency Government because it provides an environmentally friendly energy alternative.
"It's time for Bali tourism to no longer just sell beauty, but also to start moving towards the awareness of using clean energy. This will give you more points," explained Adi Arnawa.
