JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani revealed that in the last two years the government had succeeded in rolling out a number of major reform agendas in the national economic system.

She said, this is an achievement in itself considering the current condition is still in the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

“As a developing country, Indonesia continues its development goals not only through its own resources but also we invite more investors to Indonesia. That is the reason why Indonesia is carrying out reforms in the investment sector through the omnibus law or the Job Creation Act," she said through a virtual channel when speaking at the Indonesia PPP Day forum, Monday, March 28.

According to the Minister of Finance, this omnibus law creates quite a fundamental change in managing economic policies through simplifying investment procedures and also providing simpler information.

"Then in terms of state finances or fiscal, we carry out reforms through the Harmonization of Tax Regulations (HPP) policy which not only reforms the tax revenue sector but is also in line with the trend of global tax regulations," she said.

The state treasurer also explained that other policy reforms were reflected in the existence of a more effective Law Number 1 of 2022 concerning Central and Regional Financial Relations (HKPD).

“This further gives confidence that government spending (spending) can really be felt by the community through better spending and good local tax regulations. These are all reforms that Indonesia has succeeded in carrying out during the pandemic," she said.
