JAKARTA - The VVIP terminal at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali has begun to be revitalized to support the G20 Summit to provide good service to the G20 delegates, especially the heads of state who will go through the VVIP terminal.

"This VVIP Terminal Building will be built by prioritizing concepts, aesthetics, harmony and comfort and has international standards," said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi while attending the Groundbreaking for the Revitalization of the Bali Airport VVIP Building in Badung Regency, quoted from Antara, Monday, March 14.

The scope of work for revitalizing the VVIP terminal at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali includes the beautification of the (existing) VVIP terminal covering an area of 1,063 square meters, the construction of a new VVIP terminal covering an area of 1,000 square meters.

In addition, the landscape arrangement and a new service road covering an area of 3,250 square meters and the reallocation of cargo EMPU and affected buildings covering an area of 300 square meters are also carried out, all of which are targeted to be completed in July.

"I ask AP I, KemenPUPR and Wijaya Karya to carry out the development properly and on time," said Budi Karya Sumadi.

The design of the VVIP terminal at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport will later carry the theme of traditional Balinese architecture known as Wantilan, which is a building that functions as a meeting place for Balinese indigenous people and is also added with carvings of Balinese ornaments, paintings, and plants.

"The design is extraordinary. I ask that it be completed on time with good quality," said Minister Budi Karya.

The revitalization was carried out in collaboration between the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of PUPR, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of SOEs, Bali Provincial Government, SOEs and other related parties to facilitate the G20 delegations.

Through this revitalization, it is hoped that it can improve transportation services and have a positive impact on Indonesia as the host of the G20 Presidency.
