JAKARTA - PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) as the main contractor for the construction of the Mandalika Circuit has successfully completed the re-paving work on the main track of the Mandalika Circuit faster than the target.

The re-paving work has been started by PTPP since early March by carrying out a resurfacing process or replacing the 4.5 cm thick top layer of Stone Mastic Asphalt (SMA) with new SMA asphalt in accordance with MotoGP regulations and specifications. Resurfacing has been carried out starting from bend 16.5 to bend 5.5 with a length of 1,602 kilometers.

PTPP has repaired asphalt resurfacing by 17.5 percent of the total track length, which is 4,302 kilometers. PTPP together with the Project Owners, Consultants and Supervisors continued to work hard for 24 hours to successfully complete the re-paving work in accordance with the mutual agreement with the organizers of the 2022 Mandalika MotoGP.

With the re-paving process completed, now the Mandalika Circuit, which has a track length of 4,302 kilometers, is ready to be used for the Mandalika 2022 MotoGP international event next week. PTPP has successfully completed the re-pavement work on Wednesday, March 9, which was previously targeted to be completed on March 10, 2022.

The asphalting process that was carried out on March 9 was the last asphalting process that went through STA 1+085 to 1+283 along 198 meters.
