JAKARTA - PT Net Visi Media Tbk (NETV) is developing an over the top (OTT) platform. The platform, named Netverse, was built by its subsidiary, PT Net Media Digital and will launch on March 25.
"The presence of this OTT platform is one of the company's strategies in aiming for rapid growth, both in terms of business and the number of users, because the potential for market and business growth from the OTT platform is still quite large," said Net Visi Media CEO Deddy Sudarijanto in a statement quoted by Antara, Friday. March 4th.
Deddy explained that digital platforms are currently developing rapidly along with the advancement of technology users, both through mobile phone screens and television screens, as well as video streaming technology and application technology.
Nielsen data shows the number of internet-based media audience penetration in Indonesia is the second highest after television, which is 73 percent. In fact, continued Deddy, the potential for advertising spending has also reached almost 16 percent.
Deddy is optimistic that the presence of the Netverse platform will be able to attract many users, especially for viewers who have previously enjoyed Net TV content on various other digital platforms.
One of them is through the YouTube platform, which currently has 18 million unique users and 40 million views per month.
"We are optimistic that at least half of the unique users and viewers will switch and download the Netverse OTT platform," said Deddy.
Deddy added that the OTT platform will present exclusive content, ranging from talk shows, music shows, reality shows, dramas to original series. These various contents will be presented from the development of various Intellectual Property (IP) owned by NETV as part of the Company's strategic assets.
"We are developing these various IPs so that they can be presented exclusively for digital media viewers with contemporary NET-specific content that is much favored by viewers in the digital world," said Deddy.
