JAKARTA - The Bank Indonesia Liquidity Assistance Task Force (BLBI) confiscated a house unit belonging to one of the BLBI obligors, Ulung Bursa, at Jalan Pandeglang Number 20 Menteng, Central Jakarta.

Head of the Secretariat of the BLBI Task Force (Satgas), Purnama Sianturi explained, his party confiscated the assets worth Rp.467.12 billion in order to recover state collection rights.

"The confiscation of Ulung Bursa's obligor assets in order to recover the state's claim rights amounting to Rp.467.121.6 million," said Purnama during the confiscation in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 17.

In the confiscation, the BLBI Task Force personnel were accompanied by a number of parties including the Menteng Police, the TNI and Menteng Village. The officer read the confiscation letter and put up a sign containing the prohibition on using the land.

On the sign it was written "This asset is in confiscation of the committee for state receivables and government supervision of the Republic of Indonesia cq the BLBI Task Force, Presidential Decree Number 6 of 2021 in conjunction with Presidential Decree Number 16 of 2021. In addition to the house in Menteng, the BLBI Task Force also confiscated land assets and buildings on it covering an area of 1,658 square meters (m2) located at Jalan Matraman Raya Number 71, RT 012/RW 004, Pal Meriam Village, Matraman District, East Jakarta.

Ulung Bursa's attorney, Sofyan, said he was disappointed with the confiscation. According to him, Ulung Bursa intends to settle all remaining debts through installments for 10 years.

"My debtor wants to settle according to his ability. We have submitted a proposal, there are clean and clear assets, then we will pay the remaining debt in 10 years, but the task force is rejected," he said.

For information, Ulung Bursa is the former owner of Bank Lautan Berlian. Ulung is an obligor who still has outstanding debts to the state.
